DirectionsThis easy, one-mile trail follows the shoreline of Big Bay de Noc, passing through a landscape shaped by thousands of years of Great Lakes history. Follow ancient shoreline ridges that mark former lake levels, look for limestone fossils along the way and enjoy views of the bay. The trail ends at the historic Peninsula Point Lighthouse, built in 1865.
Peninsula Point is located about 19 miles south of Rapid River.
Directions:
From Rapid River, travel 2.4 miles east on US-2, then turn right (southeast) onto County Road 513. Continue approximately 17 miles to the RV parking area. The final 0.8 mile to the lighthouse is a narrow, winding road and is not recommended for RVs or vehicles pulling trailers.
