Rapid River Relic Ride

Celebrate Vintage Snowmobiles

Want to feel that deep, heart-swelling pride that comes with being a snowmobiler? Meet us at the 20th Annual Rapid River Relic Ride on Jan. 30–31. Bring the kids, the family or your best riding buddies and show them what snow and “freedom machines” are made for.

It’s a stirring moment when antique sleds line up to roar down the trail on the last Friday of January. They come from across the country, carrying decades of trail stories and the hands-on care that keeps those engines alive. If you are lucky enough to be in the lineup, you know these machines’ true grit.

Visitors and collectors at the Rapid River Relic Ride Swap Meet on Saturday browse through a fascinating array of vintage snowmobile parts and memorabilia.

A Two-Day Celebration of Snowmobile Fun and History

The Relic Ride is a two-day affair, featuring not just the ride itself, but also a snowmobile swap meet on Saturday along Main Street that is open to the public and free of charge. Spend the day admiring a full array of antique snowmobiles, each with its own story to tell and owners to share it with you.

Sure, today’s machines boast electric powertrains, GPS navigation and onboard sensors that improve safety and reduce environmental impact, but every modern sled carries a piece of the legacy you will see here. This weekend is a testament to snowmobile history and an inspiration for younger generations to carry on this Upper Peninsula tradition. Visit the Rapid River Relic Riders Facebook page for up-to-date information.

Much More Than a Ride and Swap

This is a January tradition you will look forward to year after year — a chance to reconnect with friends and meet new ones who share your passion for snowmobiling. It also carries a spirit of paying it forward, helping keep this winter adventure sport alive while supporting the Delta County community through cash or nonperishable food donations to local charities.
